Thank Goodness for Freewill!

It is not easy to stay away from bad habits. My bad habit just happens to be being unable to stop reading a book. No matter how much I hate it.
I had thought that I had stomped that habit out of me and yet recently it popped right back up. I had just added an amazing new calender to my blog and so I decided that it would be a great idea to schedule some posts because I school was about to start and I would not be able to post every day. The problem?
I put up reviews for books that I had yet to read and I did not want to have to erase them after I put them up. Yet I did not like two of the books that I was reading. I did not know what to do. I could not just stop reading the book. Or could I?

Free will says that I can and according to Calvin's logic I would never have finished reading the book anyway. So I took a deep breath, reminded myself of my New Year's resolution (you will hear that a lot) to stop reading books I don't like, and said "@#$%& it. I am not reading this book. I don't care how many awesome reviews it has. I won't do it."

And I didn't.

So does anyone else stop reading books that they don't like?
Do you have a certain point that you have to get to before you let yourself quit?
If you don't quit how do you feel about finishing books that you did not like?
Answer in the comments, please.

  1. Good for you! I'm a ruthless DNF-er, so I fully support your actions :) Life is too short and there are too many books to read to waste your time on a book you're not enjoying.

I just DNF-ed Born Wicked. I feel bad because I had such high hopes for it, but it just wasn't doing it for me.

    1. Awe, thanks. I am still learning how to DNF books but I hope I can save myself from reading books that I don't enjoy. I don't like being mean either.

      Thanks for stopping by!
