Day 30: Your Favorite Book of All Time

I don't have an answer for this one. I mean I have not even read half of the books that I hope to read in my lifetime so to pick out my favorite book that I have read in my entire life...that would be impossible. Every time I read another book I find that it is my favorite book of all time. For all I know I have yet to read the book that should go to this day. So for now I am just going to try and find it.

Day 29: A Book Everyone Hated But You Liked

I loved this book when I first read it. I liked how Frankie was able to figure out what had been going on in the school for generations all by herself. I also thought that the pranks were funny. On Goodreads this book has an overall rating of 3.88 and I think that was way too low for this book. I have not read it in a while but I would still give it a five star.

Day 28: Favorite Titles

Darkness Becomes Her by Kelley Keaton

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

One More Summer by Liz Flaherty

Glitch by Heather Anastasiu

Archon by Sabrina Benulis

I don't really know why I like titles. I just do. It all depends on the day of the month, the angle of the moon to Pluto, how many zits on my face, and a lot of seemingly useless other things. I can't give away all of my secrets.

Day 27: The Most Surprising Plot Twist or Ending

This is the fourth book in the series and I did not see the ending coming even when I was on the last page. In fact I am still not really sure what happened in the ending. It was that twisty. That is the reason that I liked this series so much though. I could never tell who was good and who was bad and just when I ever thought that the story was going one way it was turned upside down and it would go into a completely different direction. I started to hope that someone would win soon because my brain was going to explode with the possibilities.

Day 26: A Book That Changed Your Opinion About Something

How many people can read this book and not have a change of opinion? My sophomore teacher in high school told the class that we were going to have to read half of the book over the weekend. I did. I was the only one to do so. We got back to school on Monday and my teacher had changed her mind about us having to read the book. I had already read half of the book by then so I just decided to finish the book on the next weekend. With all of that senseless violence you can't help but feel something.

Day 25: A Character Who You Can Relate To The Most

I can't see into the future like Grace can but I did relate to her because of the fact that she is awkward and does not make friends all that easily. She has these visions and she blames herself for the fact that her friend was kidnapped. I do kinda...sorta...really do...think that she could have stopped it if she had listened to Emily. Yet despite her faults I really liked her and felt that I related to her. I also remember that from the description of her that she looked the most like me physically. Talk about awesome.

Day 24: A Book That You Wish More People Would Have Read

I personally liked this book but because most people don't like Evermore by the same author I doubt that they even think of reading the Riley Bloom series. It is actually better than it sounds. I liked Riley's brutal honesty and how she will do anything that she has to do to get what she wants. The fact that she was not afraid to die twenty four seven, mostly because she was already dead, was a very nice surprise. I like dogs in books too.

Day 23: A Book You Wanted to Read For a Long Time But Still Haven’t

I have been hearing about this book for years and yet I have never read it. There are so many little If You Like This Book Then You Will Like This Book and I can't count how many times that this book popped up. I have walked by this book at the book store and on my nook. I don't know why have yet to read this book. I just haven't. Maybe one of you nice readers can convince me to push the book up on my to read list. That or tell me why I should skip it.

Day 22: Favorite Book You Own

The reason that I say that this is my favorite book that I own is because I have owned it for the longest. It has stayed with me through countless book purges and I can't imagine my shelf without it. Although my favorite book of poems by Shel Silverstein is Where the Sidewalk Ends I have no idea where my copy of that book went. My best guess is somewhere with my sister when she went off to college. These books remind my of my childhood in a way that nothing else can because my mom often read us poems out of here before bed and sometimes just because. Shel Silverstein's poems make me feel warm and gooey inside.

Day 21: Favorite Book From Your Childhood

I bet no one saw that one coming. I loved this book as a kid. I liked the whole series of these book but this one was my favorite. It is so cute and funny because of how demanding that mouse ends up being. While when I was a kid I did not see anything wrong with turning into a mouse's slave (I was the youngest of three children) now that I am older I imagine telling the mouse to get it for himself. Ahh, I have gotten so mouthy since I was a kid. I loved this book then and I still love the book now. I think everyone loves this book. And if you don't: lie to me and say that you do.

Day 20: Favorite Romance Book

This book is the typical romance book. You have the fairy princesses and you have the normal guy whose job it is to help the fairy princesses. Yet for me this book rocked. I got it for free on my Nook and read it because I had it and why not read a book that I got for free? I really liked it. While it was not the most original in some spots it did have enough of its own in it to make it interesting for me to read. I can't really compare this book with any other though because I usually don't read books that are exclusively romance.

Day 19: A Favorite Book Turned Into A Movie

I have never liked books that I had to read in school which makes it a good thing that I did not read this book for school but for pleasure. On my own time. I liked this story for the same reason that thousands of people before me have liked it. I think. I liked the mystery of who Boo was. I liked Scout and her best friend. My favorite person was the father. I liked the book for the story and I think I liked it even more because of the fact that I have never had to analyze the characters or their motives. Reading for pleasure makes all books seem better. Everyone should try it sometime.

Day 17: A Book That Disappointed You

It is interesting to think about for me because Kelley Armstrong is one of my favorite authors and yet it is one of her books that disappointed my the most. I did not have any preconceived notions about this book. I went in thinking that I was going to love it. And yet I did  not. Their was not chemistry between the main characters for me. The ending was a huge ploy for me to read the next book. I just could not get into the plot, characters, setting, or almost anything for that matter. I try not to ever tell anyone that I really disliked one of my favorite authors books but sometimes it happens.

Day 17: Favorite Quotes From Your Favorite Books

Kelley Armstrong, The Reckoning

"The upshot of her triade was that I was the devil's spawn and should be locked up in a tower before I unleashed hordes of the living dead to slaughter them all in their sleep. Well, maybe that's an exaggeration , but not by much."

Cara Lockwood, The Scarlet Letterman

That's when there's a new sound at my door that has nothing to do with music. It's a loud thump, followed by a thud. When I rush to the hall, I see the Guardian who's normally standing there crumpled in a heap at my feet.

Above him is Heathcliff, fists clenched at his sides in a fighting stance.

Before I even think twice about it, I throw my arms around his neck and hug him. It's like hugging a wall, he's that broad and tall.

"You've come to save me!" I say, stating the obvious.

"Duh," Hana says, stepping out from behind Heathcliff. Samir is with her, too.

"So you and Heathcliff really are friends now."

"Not exactly friends, but working on it," Hana says.

"Come on, we don't have much time," Samir says. "Everyone is at the dance. Now's our chance."

. . .skipped a lot. . .

"Wow—nice! Samir says when we emerge about ten minutes later. I'm wearing my only formal dress—a peach-colored chiffon halter dress—with my hair thrown up in a messy bun, and enough smoky eye shadow so that even my own mother might not recognize me. But then again, that's the point. I'm supposed to be in disguise. Besides, I'm showing off enough leg so most people probably won'd be looking at my face. In face, Heathcliff is staring at a spot just above my knees. When he catches me looking at him, he flushes, ever so slightly. I guess that means he approves.

Patricia Briggs, Cry Wolf

"You haven't been sweating have you? Are your socks dry? I brought spares. Wet socks mean frostbite—you could loose a toe."

She wiggled her snowshoes, which dangled a foot or so off the ground. "I thought being a werewolf meant indestructible, short of death."

Something in her face told him she was thinking about the beatings she'd been given to try to make her into something she was not.

"It might grow back," Charles said, soothing Brother Wolf, who didn't like it when Anna was unhappy. "But it wouldn't be fun."

"Cool." Then as an afterthought she told him. "My socks are dry."

"Let me know if that changes."

Bruce Brooks, Midnight Hour Encores

"Really?" I laugh and blush. "I never thought of myself as being unself-conscious."

He laughs. "Exactly."

I think about it for a minute, watching him drive. "I know why you think I'm so spontaneous. It's because I feel happy." He says nothing. "Want to know why I feel happy?"

He glides onto a straight, dark rod that takes us high above the twinkling bay. "I think I know already," he says.

"I bet you do." I close my eyes to say it: "I'm in love."

He smiles, glances at me, and says, "I'm glad you realize it."

Day 16: Favorite Female Character

Susan from A Stir of Bones by Nina Kiriki Hoffman. I like the fact that Susan is not afraid of anything. She does what she can to defy her father who does horrible things to her mother. The story is a prequel for the actual series but I have never actually read the other books because Susan is not really in them as predominately as A Stir of Bones. I am not quite sure when the book takes place but it is after computers are invented but before they are anywhere but in the work environment. I also think the fact that she does not feel pain makes her slightly more interesting than I would have otherwise. She is also slightly insane.

Day 15: Favorite Male Character

Hobbes. How can anyone not like the cute tiger? He is so awesome. Yeah, I know my hormones lost the battle when it came to picking out my favorite male character but the meme said nothing about the character having to be human. So there. He is funny and he can dish out to Calvin as good and sometimes better than he gets. I wish I had a tiger of my own.

30 Day Book Meme
Day 14: Favorite Book of Your Favorite Writer

I like her Alpha and Omega series a whole lot more than her Mercedes Thompson series. The reason for this is the love triangle in the Mercedes Thompson series. Alpha and Omega is more about two people learning to overcome their problems, both emotionally and because of all of the junk that is happening around them. They are just so much cuter. The third book should be coming out soon and I am really excited about it. The first part of the series is actually in an anthology called On the Prowl but it is not needed to understand the book. It did have a lot of information in it that was only hinted at in the full series however. I have not read the books in a while so I can't be any more specific than that unless I look over the books again. I probably will do that sometime before I buy the third book.

Day 13: Your Favorite Writer

Many of these categories overlap way to often because I can't do a bunch of favorites without repeating myself a few time. I want to say that my favorite writer is Kelley Armstrong but at the same time I really want to do a different book/series/author for every day. So instead of saying my favorite author I want to say my second favorite author: Patricia Briggs. I must really like werewolves though because both authors are most known for their werewolf books. The reason that I say that Patricia Briggs is my second favorite author is because 1. Her books are right in the front of my face so they are in sight and in mind, 2. I like a few of the series that she has written, and 3. I think that is pretty much it. I think that if I can read more than one series by the same person and like both series equally well than they must be someone I like. Sarah Ockler is also extremely high on my list of favorites for this very reason.

Day 12: A Book You Used to Love But Don't Anymore

What I am about to say will probably get me attacked by every Harry Potter fanatic in the universe and several in universes far far away but while I used to love Harry Potter I just don't anymore. I actually started to get tired of the books around the fifth book. This was around the time that it started to take two hundred pages for Harry to finally get out of his aunt and uncle's house. I did not even read the seventh book. When it comes to the movies I don't remember seeing the fourth movie but I know that I did and I doubt I saw anymore than all of Luna Lovegood's scenes for the fifth movie. I don't think I have ever heard of a Harry Potter fan that has ever stopped having Harry Potter be the book that they compare all of books to so I think I am a first.

Questions for the readers: What book have you liked but don't anymore?
Do you feel guilty about it?
Do you think that not liking Harry Potter should be a crime?
And what would the punishment be?

Day 11: A Book You Hated

I have heard some amazing things about this book. I did not really know much about the book except that the main character Sam relives her last day over seven times. What everyone failed to mention was what a humongous b***h that girl is. I could not stand her. She was a grade a sociopath and even though the author misused the word antisocial I completely agreed with the real definition. Antisocial is just another word for sociopath it does not mean that you do not like to hang out at a crowded party. I have nothing against Lauren Oliver and I am sure if the book had not said, "Is it really so much worse than what you do?" like that was supposed to make me rethink my opinion of Sam I would have been able to continue. As it stands this book has officially knocked Twilight from my number one hated book ever.

Rant over.
